Curriculum vitae
I was born on May 31st 1979 in Poznań. My education began
in Elementary School no. 36 in Poznań. In 8th grade I won 1st place in Regional
Biological Competition, which enabled me to enter without examination 1st Secondary
School in Poznań with a biological-chemical course of study. In 11th grade I
entered finals of XXIII National Geography Contest. That achievement gave me
a right to enter university studies without examination. In 1998 I received
a prize in Local Government Teenager Competition "8 Wonderful" for
my work in environmental protection.
In years 1998-2003 I studied spatial management and
planning on Geosciences Faculty of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. On
26 June 2003 I finished my studies defending my Master Thesis dealing with problems
of bicycle traffic in Poznań, graded as brilliant. Since year 2001 I am also
studying computer science on Physics Faculty of Adam Mickiewicz University.
From October 2002 to March 2003 I studied both topics on Friedrich-Alexander-Universität
in Erlangen (Germany), funded by Socrates-Erasmus program.
Since October 2003 until June 2007 I was a PhD student
on Geosciences Faculty of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In January 2006 I
received the Scholarship for the Best PhD Students in Region Wielkopolska, which
was co-founded by the European Communities within the confines of a regional
development program. On June 22nd 2007 I defended my dotoral dissertation "Modelling
of the suburbanisation process in Poznań metropolitan area using artificial neural
networks and cellular automata". Doctoral Thesis evaluated as first class honours.
My interest in spatial planning is evolving mainly around
sustainable development of transport and environmental protection, mathematical
modeling in social sciences and GIS. I am an author or co-author of publications
in scientific journals and conference proceedings. I presented speeches on scientific
conferences.
Since 1996 to 1998 I was a member of the Ecological Commission
of the Jeżyce District Council, and since 1996 I was also in editorial board of
a council monthly newspaper "Nasze Jeżyce". In 1998 I won elections
to the Jeżyce District Council became a member of District Executive Board,
taking responsibility for transport and environmental protection problems, and
a district internet page. In 2002, attempting to focus on my scientific work,
I decided to resign from a re-election attempt.
Since 1998 I am a member of The Association for Ecological
Transportation "The Section of city Cyclists" executive. In year 2000
I took a seat in executive of Association of Independent Initiatives "Mikuszewo",
involved in Polish-German youth exchange. My participation in Non Government
Organizations granted me practical experience in co-operation with public officials.
I also attend important debates focusing on transport problems in Poznan.
My main interest evolve around computer programs,
traffic engineering and photography.
